Entropy 1.0 is here
Wild Construct has released Entropy 1.0, a GPU particle instrument for Adobe After Effects, following a beta with more than 400 testers.
Wild Construct, Inc. today released Entropy 1.0, a particle instrument for Adobe After Effects that simulates and renders on the graphics card. The preview plays in real time, so artists direct a shot while it is moving rather than waiting on a render to find out what they made.
What it does
- Simulation and rendering on the GPU, with a preview that plays in real time.
- Particles with real materials: actual geometry, per-particle lighting, reflections from an environment, and glass that transmits and refracts.
- Volumes, rendered as volumetric density and lit as a volume rather than faked with layered sprites.
- Tracers that draw the path every particle took, turning a simulation into a shape you can see at once.
- Forces that are art-directable: attractors, springs, vortex and turbulence, all keyframeable.
- Systems that branch into children, and children of children, so a layered idea stays legible.
Price and licensing
Entropy is $299 for a perpetual license. The version you buy keeps working, one license activates two machines, and purchases include two years of updates and support. Refunds are available within seven days of purchase.
Entropy 1.0 ships on Mac and Windows together. A free seven-day trial is the complete plug-in with nothing held back, available at wildconstruct.com/trial/entropy.
Requirements
Entropy runs in After Effects 2025 or 2026, on Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later and on 64-bit Windows with a graphics card that supports Direct3D 12. It needs 16 GB of memory, and is not a CUDA product: an NVIDIA card is not required.
Availability
Entropy 1.0 is available now at wildconstruct.com/products/entropy. Documentation is at wildconstruct.com/docs and tutorials at wildconstruct.com/tutorials.
