Entropy 1.03: force mapping goes further, and emitters made of glass
Entropy 1.03 is a free update to Entropy 1.0 for Adobe After Effects. Force Mapping gains separate in and out controls, OBJ emitters can be glass or metal, and the Composer and Navigator add three more languages.
Wild Construct, Inc. has released Entropy 1.03, a free update to Entropy 1.0 for Adobe After Effects. It extends Force Mapping, the controls behind a dissolve, gives emitter bodies the materials particles already had, and adds three more languages. Your license, presets and sprites carry over.
Force mapping goes further
- Size and Opacity have separate In and Out controls.
- Fade Out Time lets released particles drift out of frame before they disappear.
- Emit After Release lets child systems fill in behind the dissolve.
Emitters made of glass and metal
OBJ emitters take the materials particles already had: Transmission, IOR, Dispersion and Absorption, with particles behind the object refracting through it. Emitter materials get their own environment map.
Rendering
- Highlight Compression on the Render effect rolls bright highlights off smoothly instead of clipping them.
- Long animated compositions no longer slow down frame by frame as the playhead moves.
- A long list of smaller fixes, including ProRes movie sprites on Windows.
Three more languages
The Composer and the Navigator add Turkish, Arabic and Hebrew, with right-to-left text.

Two tutorials built on 1.03 are on the tutorials page: dissolving text with force mapping and wave emitters, formulas and paths.
